For our third year wedding anniversary, we decided to spoil ourselves by having a romantic picnic at Zuma Beach. I googled my little heart out but could not find a company that would set up a private picnic on the beach for couples. A picnic was our best option considering we were still scared of eating at a restaurant due to COVID, even outside.
One night, I came across The Picnic Collective. They are a company that customizes luxury picnics throughout Los Angeles and Orange County. After looking at their Instagram and Yelp reviews, they seemed like a great fit for our special event. Working with them was incredibly easy. They emailed us along every step of the way to make sure our picnic turned out wonderfully. We got to select the food, dessert, style, and location of our picnic. They even called us the day before to finalize the details.
On the day of our picnic, we were sent a pin for the location of our spot at Zuma Beach. When we arrived, the picnic was set up beautifully! We were greeted with a bouquet of flowers and petals sprinkled around the table in front of an elegant lace tent. For our enjoyment, we were served 3 types of cheeses, crackers, fruits, and bread on a charcuterie board paired with sparkling fruit juice. We were also treated to tasty macarons for dessert. Apart from the delicious food, they provided a bluetooth speaker for ambient music. Since we scheduled our picnic in the morning, we had the beach mostly to ourselves.
Throughout our picnic, we did have a couple of curious strangers come up to us, intrigued by the set up and what we were doing. They were all very nice and wished us a happy anniversary. After taking a couple…hundred…shots, we enjoyed our food, the sound of ocean waves, and the beautiful LA weather.
We absolutely recommend you using The Picnic Collective for a romantic picnic on the beach. It can be a bit of a splurge, but sometimes you just need to treat yourself!
